Week 4 Things 8 and 9

This visit to work with our illustrious librarian bloggers on RSS feeds was an eye-opening experience. I am amazed that so few people currently utilize RSS feeds because they don't even know what they do. They are a free way to gain the information that YOU want all on one list of personalized selected blogs and websites. I selected most of my sites from Topix. for current news and Google search to find sites that I already liked and were closer to home, such as movie listings, and more. Thanks to our more computer savvy helpers, we are "trained" RSS users who have feeds galore at our fingertips!

RSS really is the most useful thing that I've learned in the course. I think, in fact, that it might be useful to learn about RSS a little earlier in the course so that you can utilize it to do the Discovery Exercises.
