Week 9 Things 20,21,22,23

I have been watching YouTube for awhile and find some of the posts questionable for our elementary school students, thus the filter of this website. It is very entertaining, but not always a good idea for youngsters to be on it without some guidance from an adult. I explored podcasts today and learned how to record my narration on Audacity for download onto my library webpage. I think this is a valuable tool to use for my own students to hear their own voices as well. I found several ebooks and many authors to explore in my free time. Adding ebooks into our online library cataloging system seens light years in the future for my school. Maybe we will progress even more this year. I viewed the examples of Copyright law and Creative Commons restrictions put in entertaining formats. I gained a lot of new ideas from being a part of Web 2.0. There was a lot of comraderie, sharing ideas and my daily use of Del.icio.us that were very bountiful and worthwhile. Thank you colleagues for sharing your vast knowledge and librarian insight to enhance my class experience. Lets keep in touch and grow together as librarians and friends. Have a super summer everyone!!

Week 8 , Thing 18 and 19

This evening was full of chatting and sharing information on Zoho and GoogleDocs. I prefer the Google doc opportunity to select your contacts who you want to share with. Zoho has you enter each individual email address and who remembers that???? I liked the Library Thing site and enjoyed selecting books to add to my blog and then seeing them in place. This can lead to catalog my home library for future reference. A fun evening was had by all, TLA travellers shared plans too. We all look forward to sharing our experiences at our April PLC. See you all there.

Week 7, Thing 16,17

Wikis are interesting. Each one is a common place for several participants to collaborate and contribute to a project. I like that this give everyone a chance to add on to the page without clogging the email system. I am very guilty of saving too many things via email and this would be a space saving tool for us all. With our district approval, this may be a handy learning tool. I played in the Wiki sandbox and discussed Del.icio.us with the Librarians in attendance tonite. I saw that there are many tutorials that we as librarians can use in the future. This was another productive night for our Wonderful Web 2.0 class.

Week 6, Things 13,14,15

The Web 2.0 class today visited Del.icio.us and Technorati ( tags) and Web 2.0 , Library 2.0 and future of libraries in Lessons 13,14, and 15. We enjoyed using social bookmarking. I found several sites I can use in the library and for personal use. Del.icio.us is fun to use and can be accessed from any computer as long as you remember the URL, your login and password. I think someday we will each have huge lists of access login information for the best siteson our own personal secure sites ( I hope) . I read about Blidgets and widgets and learned more about linking my blog on my computer to others using a widget. I went to Teacher tube to sample videos that are useful in our library.
